Dear Parent Carer
A key role of Brent Parent Carer Forum CIC (BPCF) is to work in partnership with commissioners and service providers to represent the views of parents and carers in order to influence services and get the best provision for children and young people aged 0-25 with SEND in Brent.
Following the national SEND reforms in 2014 BPCF, Brent Council and Brent NHS North West London Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) are keen to continue to understand the needs of families living in Brent and their experiences of using services.
Following the first round of SEND Ofsted and CQC inspections we are awaiting the 2nd round of revised inspection framework.
What is the new Send Ofsted framework?
Joint inspections of local area special educational needs or disabilities (or both) provision – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
The new SEND Ofsted and CQC framework and handbook come into use from 2023 and will be used to inform judgements on the efficacy of local areas’ arrangements for children and young people with SEND. The new framework aims to strengthen accountability by: Introducing an ongoing cycle of inspections with three inspection outcomes.
We would like to know about your ‘lived experiences’ of accessing and using SEND services. we are asking you to feedback on 2022 to date.
Please help us do this by completing our survey by Friday 2nd June 2023.
Your responses will be fed back to the Local Authority and Brent NHS North West London Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) to enable them to make informed decisions that will make improvements and deliver more efficient and effective services to you as a parent, carer or family member looking after a child or young person with SEND.
This survey builds on the valuable information and feedback you have already provided over the past 4 years.
