As part of the Parent Participation work taking place in the Primary schools who are part the PINS project.
One of the areas we would like to develop is to have a small team of parent champions in each school who will act as the link between each school and their school community.
We would like to invite you to a briefing online where we will tell you about the role of being a parent champion.
We are looking for 2-3 parent/carers in each school or cluster area who would be willing to volunteer 2-5 hours a week or month to meet with other parents telling them about services for children and young people with SEND such as:
- Acting as the Parent link at your child’s school
- Support us at our meetings or events to spread the word
What are the benefits for parents?
- Training to assist them to move toward developing your confidence and skills
- Experience that will support you toward new goals and employment
- You will become better informed and equipped in your own role as parents and working in partnership,
